Third Annual Seed Exchange

Saturday, February 18th,  10:45- 12:45

at the Transylvania County Community Services Building, Conference Room.

We are so excited about this year’s seed exchange. It’s a great way to meet other local gardeners and exchange ideas as well as extra seed for new varieties.  This year we’re making it easier for everyone to participate.  As always, those of you who have extra garden seed; package it, label it and bring it to swap.  For every packet you bring, you will take a new one home.  If you don’t have extra seed to swap, no worries. This year you can buy exchange credits to participate.  Each credit you buy ($.75 each) will entitle you to one packet in the exchange.  New Leaf will be adding lots of great varieties of seed to the swap, so they’ll be something good for everyone who participates.

Before the swap takes place, join us for a great garden talk with Lindsay Green & Devin Gentry.  Lindsay & Devin’s topic will be ”What You Need to Know About Veggie Gardening”.  They will discuss building healthy soil, germinating seed, how to maintain your garden and much more.  A short Q&A will follow their talk.  You don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from other talented local gardeners.

After the garden talk, we’ll be giving away some great door prizes, including a $25 gift certificate to New Leaf Garden Market. Be there by 11:45 to sign up for the give aways.

At noon, the seed exchange will take place.  If you plan to participate be there by 11:50 to check-in &  get your seed out on the table.  The seed swap itself always goes very quickly, so be on time so you don’t miss out. In addition to the exchange, we will have spring & summer seed for purchase as well as seed starting supplies.
